Welcome to the County Fair

  • Fair Dedication

In 2016 we will honor two great men who have faithfully served our youngsters and the fair association for many years. We are dedicating the 2016 Waller County Fair to Ronald “Pops” Standley (left) & Hubert Hegemeyer (right).

  • Ronald “Pops” Standley - April 23, 1943 – January 8, 2014
Ronald was born in Beaumont, Texas to Morris & Linnie Evelyn Standley from Smith Point, Texas, the small town in which he lived throughout his childhood. As a young man Ronald along the side of his father hand crafted a shrimping vessel and after many years as shipmate he became the captain of the boat named the “Davonna Marie”. Sometime after graduating high school, he was drafted in to the U. S. Army where he served as a solider, master welder and mechanic for many years finishing his duty with an honorable discharge.

  • Hubert Hegemeyer - December 26, 1924 – November 2, 2015
Hubert Hegemeyer, a lifetime supporter of both agriculture and youth, lived in Waller County and served his community for over 60 years until his death on November 2, 2015. His generous involvement in the community and the Waller County Fair will be greatly missed. Hubert and his wife Beatrice moved to Waller County as newlyweds in 1955 and became long time volunteers for the 4-H program and county fair. Together the couple served the youth of Waller County as 4-H leaders for over 25 years.

  • PRCA Pro Rodeo Action

The Waller County Fair and Rodeo Committee is proud to announce that Carr Pro Rodeo will continue as our pro stock contractor and producer. Mr. Carr has guaranteed to add to the success our recent pro rodeo. Carr Pro Rodeo has also just recently purchased the Classic Pro Rodeo and this is a huge step in maintaining some of the best horses and bulls in the country to compete not only at the Wrangler National Finals in Vegas every year but also right here Waller County Fair and Rodeo.

  • Your 2016 Fair Queen Contestants

As always we have a great group of young ladies from around the county to compete for the Fair Queen Crown. You can see the individual contestants on the Fair Queen page.
Part of the competition is for each contestant to sell advance tickets to the fair. These young ladies work very hard to support the fair by selling these tickets. Be sure and support your favorite young lady by purchasing your tickets from her.
